DescriptionDescription: Købke visited Capri in 1839 and made countless studies there, sometimes with small staffage figures in red fishermen’s caps. These figures from peasant life could also be the subject of independent genre-like images, like this representation of a fisher boy from the island. It has the freshness of a study and, judging by the inscription, was painted during the artist’s stay on Capri.
