DescriptionDescription: Greek mythology relates how Achilles’ mother was told that her son would be slain in the Trojan War. She hides him on the island of Scyros where, disguised as a girl, he grows up among the daughters of King Lycomedes. The Greeks discover the hiding place and dispatch Odysseus. Disguised as a merchant, he spreads out an array of jewellery and arms. Achilles is recognized as he reaches for the weapons. He is forced to choose between duty and a life of ease.
