DescriptionDescription: Heavily worn and torn, damp stains, white stains in the centre. Former folded. Laid down. On verso of lining in black ink: L Carrache (Tessin?) Numbered at lower right in pen and brown ink: 918 (Sparre, struck out) and 920a. Inscribed at lower right in pen and brown ink; doute (??) and numbered 1 Catherine Loisel considers this drawing to be a work by Ludovico from c. 1584 when Annibale prepared a painting with the same subject for the Capucin church in Parma (1585). She compares it with a sheet at Christ Church, Oxford, and another, showing a Depostion of Christ with Saints, in Statens museum for kunst, Copenhagen, which she similarly attributes to Ludovico. Catherine Johnston feels that this attribution is convincing [Bjurström, It. Drawings, cat. no. 1444]
