DescriptionDescription: Damp-stains along the borders. Vertical fold in the centre. Laid down. Numbered at lower right in pen and brown ink: 372 (Sparre) and 87 (struck out) Philip Pouncey identified this drawing as a work by Samacchini. It is a preparatory study for the vault decoration of Sant'Abbondio, Cremona, finished in 1576. A drawing for one of the Angels is in the British Museum [1], while other studies are in the Louvre [2], the Pierpont Morgan Library [3], the Albertina [4] and the Uffizi [5]. 1.
