DescriptionDescription: In this double self-portrait, Peter Dahl expresses criticism of the artist’s lot. On the table is a board game with two slips of paper, showing that the casually dressed Dahl on the sofa is “ORDINARY PINNEBERG” (a reference to Hans Fallada’s novel Little Man, What Now?), while the standing Dahl in a jacket is a “CAPITALIST”. In his breast pocket are the “RULES OF THE GAME”, and this is where the money is. Dahl’s painting on the wall tells us he is both for sale and for hire.
