DescriptionDescription: Alva and Gunnar Myrdal were two of the most influential figures in Swedish social policy and economics in the mid 20th century. Alva Myrdal was also an advocate of disarmament. Sven Ljungberg’s portrait depicts them as equals. They share a practical, modern office, with facing desks. Next to Alva we see an image of Mahatma Gandhi, on the wall behind Gunnar a photograph of his parents, Perers Carl Adolf and Knuts Anna Sofia Pettersson.
