DescriptionDescription: After a short period of training in Copenhagen, Bror Hjorth became a student of Antoine Bourdelle, who taught sculpture at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris in the 1920s. It was here that he drew this large self-portrait. Photographs from Hjorth’s studio in the Villa Brune in Montparnasse show how he was alternating at this time between drawing, painting and sculpture, a combination that would come to characterise his artistic output.
