DescriptionDescription: Brown stain at lower centre. Laid down. Inscribed in pen and black ink at lower left: Guid. Cagnacii. Numbered in pen and black ink at lower right: 974 (Sparre). Cagnacci´s drawings are quite rare. Catherine Johnston compares our sheet with the drawing of a nude woman in The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, which exhibits a similar smoothness in the handling of the chalk, as well as an identical facial type. She also mentions a stylistically related drawing in the Institut Néerlandais, Paris. [Bjurström, It. Drawings, cat. no. 1321]
