DescriptionDescription: Numbered in pen and brown ink at lower right: 1 and on the old mount: 922 (Sparre) and 874 (struck out) and 36 (struck out). Inscribed in pen and red and black ink below on the old mount:"LVCIO MASSARI Bolognese, allieuo di Ludouico Caracci. Malu (Malvasia) invita" Traditionally attributed to Lucio Masseri, this drawing is now recognized as a preparatory study for Brizio´s painting of 1622 in the choir of "San Salvatore", Bologna.
