DescriptionDescription: The Assumption. Laid down. Numbered in pen and brown ink at lower right: 246 (Sparre). Clearly a counterpart to the preceding drawing [nr 1335]. A drawing in the Brera, a study for the Virgin in an Assumption, corresponds with some slight differences to the Virgin in this drawing. Turner dates the four drawings here discussed to c. 1615 and connects them hesitantly with the preparatory work in the planning of the scenes in "The Mystery of the Rosary" in the Cappella del Rosario in S.
