DescriptionDescription: The death of the Virgin. Laid down. Numbered in pen and brown ink at lower right: 245 (Sparre). The main source to Morazzone's work is Mina Gregori's exhibition catalogue of his work in Varese in 1962. To this may be added Nicholas Turner's article in Master Drawings were six drawings, among these the two from Nationalmuseum are published. Turner attributres the Stockholm drawings to Morazzone on purely stylistic grounds. A drawing formerly on the London art market represents the same composition as this drawing and is judged by Turner as an original by Morazzone as well. [Bjurström, It. Drawings, cat. no. 1235]
