DescriptionDescription: St. Francis presents the rules of his order to Pope Innocent III in 1210. Laid down. Numbered in pen and brown ink at lower right: 209. (Sparre). This and the following two numbers constitute a group of drawings representing scenes from the life of St. Francis. Stylistically rather closely related to Vanni's preparatory studies for Tommaso Nacci's painting of 1596 in the Sienese church of S. Domenico, they belong to an early phase of the artist's career.
