DescriptionDescription: Study of a man. Laid down. Inscribed in pen and brown ink at bottom: Daniele Da Volterra. Numbered in pen and brown ink at lower right: 133 (Sparre). Despite the affinities with Daniele's style, a stronger resemblance is found in the studio of Baccio Bandinelli. Both Jacob Bean and Philip Pouncey (1967) suggested the school of Bandinelli. It is clearly related to Bandinelli's style, for example see a drawing attributed to Bandinelli early in his career, sold at Sotheby's, New York, 28 January 1998, no. 69. [Bjurström, It.
