DescriptionDescription: Elisabeth Ohlson’s portrait of the Wassén-Boström family is a personal take on John-E Franzén’s painting Carl XVI Gustaf and Family (1984–85, NMGrh 3916). Both are set in a space filled with beautiful antique objects and the subjects’ poses mirror each other. Instead of the royal Labrador Charlie there is a caged bird. Ohlson’s photograph, however, also questions the traditional nuclear family. Here, classical tradition is combined with new definitions.
