DescriptionDescription: A penitent monk. Laid down. Inscribed in pen and brown ink in lower margin: p. d Cortona (Germisoni). Numbered at lower right: 448 (Sparre). Traditionally attributed to Pietro da Cortona. The attribution to Baldi suggested by U. Fischer Pace. The inscription P da Cortona suggests a Pio provenance and might express a characteristic trend to overvalue older drawings in the Pio collection. [Bjurström, It. Drawings, cat. no. 636]
