DescriptionDescription: Triumph of David. Laid down. Inscribed at lower centre in pen and brown ink: Tintorette. Numbered at lower right: 1219. (Sparre). Here, too, Bettagno considers that a knowledge of Rembrandt was essential for Pellegrini's work. Pignatti finds the sheet characteristic of the "whirling" manner of drawing in the artist's Roman-Venetian epoch, 1700-08. The motif bears a resemblance to a painting that was in the Venetian art trade in 1958. Reproduced in "Emporium", 1928 (1958), p. 205. [Bjurström, It. Drawings, cat. no. 197]
