DescriptionDescription: Christ Crucified with Four Saints. Watermark: Crescents (close to Heawood 865: Venice, n.d.) Numbered at lower right in pen and black ink: 1349. (Sparre). Inscribed verso in an 18th century hand in pen and grey ink: No 71 Piazetta. This drawing and number 200 (attributed here to Pellegrini) were both listed under Piazzetta in the earliest record, from 1790. The forms are loose and the impression is conveyed by the wash, the pen being used mainly for emphasis. There are strong similarities with Diziani's manner in works such as "the Martyrdom of St. Felix and St. Fortunatus" (no. 178) but this sheet probably comes late in his output. [Bjurström, It.
