DescriptionDescription: Watermark: Stars and letters P G. Inscribed in lower margin in pen and black ink: Titien Cabinet de Crozat. Numbered: 1211. (Sparre) and 78. In Tessin´s collection this drawing was listed as by Titian. Referring to drawings in the British Museum and the Liechtenstein gallery. Sirén attributed it to Campagnola and most probably to his youth. Tietze is doubtful about this dating and indeed about the attribution on the whole. The sheet has obvious weaknesses and there are many signs, including several misinterpreted natural forms, that it is more probably a copy after a composition by Campagnola. [Bjurström, It.
