DescriptionDescription: This portrait of ABBA was part of the series Svenskar ’80 (Swedes ’80), published as a supplement to Expressen on 4 January 1981. Gedda was commissioned by the newspaper to create images of both well-known and unknown Swedes. They were all represented in a similar manner, standing against a white background, which contributed to the silhouette feel and egalitarian character of the portraits. As editor Bo Strömstedt put it, no distinction was made between “the glitter and the everyday”.
