DescriptionCatalogue raisonné: Press Release May 2014 Paintings by Liljefors reunited at Nationalmuseum Through the acquisition of a painting by Bruno Liljefors, Nationalmuseum can recreate one of the artist's most ambitious works. Katt på blomsteräng was composed together with Törnskateungar, which already belongs to the museum's collections, and now the paintings are displayed in a common frame as the artist had thought from the beginning. The two works was exhibited in may 2014 in the exhibition Highlights together with four other paintings that were part of the original whole. They can now be seen together in the Timeline. In 2013, the Nationalmuseum acquired the painting Katt på blomsteräng from 1887 by Bruno Liljefors. The acquisition means that one of Liljefors' most ambitious works can now be recreated and experienced as the artist had imagined it. The painting has been reunited with Törskateungar, which is already in the museum's collection and they have been re-assembled in the common frame that they originally put in. Beside the cat motif, Törnskateungar will arrive in a new light and it becomes clear that Liljefors composed the paintings together because they in both form and color is so well-balanced in relation to each other.
