DescriptionDescription: This general plan of Ekolsund shows ideas for extension of the palace and new installations in the garden, dominated by long perspectives, broad avenues and many water features and ponds. Jean de la Vallée has also worked with various elevations, expressed in the form of terraces and cascades. The latter were new to Sweden, as was a strategically positioned folly, a monopteros (a round pillared temple) in the centre of a star-shaped site.
