DescriptionDescription: At the 1923 Gothenburg Exposition, the Metallurgy Urn was placed under Einar Forseth’s ceiling mosaic depicting the mytological antique Greek sun god Helios driving his chariot across the sky to banish the darkness of night. At the exhibition, the mosaic was installed in a of quite a dark room and the gold reflected the light seeping in from an adjacent hall that was flooded in daylight. Forseth’s best known mosaic is in the Golden Hall in Stockholm City Hall, which was inaugurated in 1923.
