DescriptionDescription: Hanna Werning produced the original for the Djurträdgård pattern during her final year (2001) of studies at Central Saint Martins in London. She was inspired by the cultural diversity of London, with many nationalities gathered in one place, the range of styles in the city’s architecture, the British designer William Morris and the organic idiom of the Art Nouveau era. If you take a closer look at the pattern, your will see animal silhouettes from around the world merging with swirling Jugend flowers, giving a camouflage-like feel. Res. Katalogtext: Description from Art Bulletin of Nationalmuseum, Stockholm, vol 16, 2009: Werning´s design combines the vegetative tradition of William Morris and Josef Frank, but adds specifically 21st century expression.
