Den här  vartklädda kvinnan i profil framför ett mönstrat draperi för tankarna till en av tidens mest berömda målningar: Whistler’s Mother , utförd av James Abbott McNeill Whistler 1871, utställd i London och Paris, och spridd genom grafiska reproduktioner.

Abbott McNeill Whistler in 1871, exhibited in London and Paris, and popularised through prints. This portrait is a new acquisition, bought for the Nationalmuseum in 2012.
