DescriptionDescription: Amalia von Königsmarck holds her paintbrushes, and a portrait of Queen Ulrika Eleonora the Elder. Königsmarck was the first Swedish woman to produce a portrait of herself as an artist. Here she also demonstrates her ability to paint an allegory. Creating images with symbolic meaning was considered the foremost task of an artist. To the left is Fama, the goddess of rumour, ready to trumpet the glory of the queen and the artist.
