DescriptionDescription: The wealth of detail in the silver service suggests that the silversmith had studied historical objects closely, perhaps at an exhibition or in a large pictorial work of archaeological finds. The dragon ornaments, the top of the jug in the form of drinking horn, and the heroic images of Vikings are convincing, but no Viking would have owned such a service. It is a creative historical fantasy wrought by a very skilled smith and designer.
