DescriptionDescription: It is still considered rude to look at your watch while talking to someone. A. L. Breguet, one of the best-known watchmakers, solved this problem with his montre à tact, a type of pocket watch that could be read by feeling the case in your pocket. Lacking an ordinary dial, it instead shows the time with an arrow in relief and twelve gold buttons on the edge of the case. This example was made in around 1800 and once belonged to G. M. Armfelt.
