Additional texteExhibition text: During the Baroque, existence was often seen as a spectacle. Exclusive fabrics, huge radiant-white collars, and the gleam of polished weapons amplified the effect when making an entrance into a room. There was also a great deal of interest in the deviant, such as people with deformities or exotic origins. Just like today, there was a zone in the no man’s land between the permissible and the forbidden that fascinated. Christian-Pontus Andersson’s sculptures often have a strange and artificial expression, despite having been executed with great technical skill and realistic details. This androgynous porcelain figure is eye-catching, but who is it?
