DescriptionDescription: Sang-de-boeuf (or oxblood) glaze is a fabled stoneware glazing method. The glaze contains copper oxide, and in order to achieve the dark red colour the kiln is starved of oxygen during firing. The process is difficult to control, and often a measure of the artist’s skill. Streaks of green indicate oxygen has seeped in. Tyra Lundgren was working for both Arabia and Sèvres when Sköldpadda (Tortoise) was made.
