DescriptionDescription: Knoll Associates Inc. had exclusive rights to NK’s textiles and also produced patterns by NK’s head of textiles, Astrid Sampe. Business also crossed the Atlantic in the other direction, for example a chair by US designer Harry Bertoia was made by NK’s workshops in Nyköping. Personal contacts were important to these collaborations. Florence Knoll and Harry Bertoia had both studied at Cranbrook, and Sampe was close friends with Eero Saarinen.
