Additional texteExhibition text: Zibet’s career followed the political upheavals of his time. In 1761, he became the Crown Prince’s (later Gustav III’s) private secretary. He was subsequently appointed Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and a member of the Swedish Academy. During the Regency government that followed the King’s assassination in 1792, he lost his positions. However, Gustav IV Adolf appointed him Court Chancellor in 1801. When the King was deposed in 1809, he was dismissed and died shortly thereafter.
