BiographyBiography: Jacopo was the son of a saddler by the name of Arcangelo di Jacopo. He was a pupil of Filippo Lippo and later a follower of Sandro Botticelli, and worked primarily in the manner of his second master. His first documented commission from 1477 was for two panels depicting the Annunciation, showing the Archangel and the Virgin respectively, for the church of Santa Lucia dei Magnoli in Florence. He is also one of the painters of the famous Nerli Cassone, now in the National Gallery, dated 1472.
