BiographyBiography: Pauwel Casteels was a battle scene painter. In 1649/1650 he became a master in the Antwerp guild of St. Luke. He was influenced by Pieter Meulenaer and Pieter Snayers. His palette is close to Peter Meulener but in technique he is more fluid and his draftsmanship less meticulous.
