BiographyBiography: Alessandro Salucci’s work was first identified by Andrea Busiri Vici in 1962. Salucci was a Florentine painter specializing in imaginary architectural scenes and harbour views. The figures in his pictures were executed by other artists, like Jan Miel and Michelangelo Cerquozzi. His Perspective with Portico is from c. 1635–36 (Busiri Vici Collection, Rome), while Harbour with Ruins was painted in the 1650s (Hampton Court, Royal Collection, London). In 1628 Salucci worked on the frescoes of the Villa Sacchetti (now Chigi) in Castelfusano. After 1635 he worked on frescoes of sacred subjects in Santa Maria in Vallicella in Rome.
