BeskrivningBeskrivning: Cézanne hörde till impressionistgruppen och ställde ut på deras första utställning 1874. Hans målningar skilde sig emellertid från gruppens skissartade ögonblicksbilder. Cézanne var mer intresserad av bildens arkitektoniska struktur, och i början av 1900-talet fick hans måleri avgörande betydelse för kubismen. Detta landskap från Oise-dalen norr om Paris är typiskt för Cézannes sätt att komponera landskapsmotiv. Utsikten mot dalgången ramas in av en kuliss av trädstammar och lövverk. Beskrivning: Cézanne was one of the Impressionists, and he showed his work at their first exhibition in 1874. His paintings were different, however, from the sketchy momentary images of the other artists in the group. Cézanne was more interested in the architectonic structure of a picture, and his paintings influenced the Cubists in the early 1900s. This scene from the Oise Valley north of Paris is typical of Cézanne’s way of composing landscapes. The view across the valley is framed by trees and branches.
