BeskrivningBeskrivning: Se beskrivning i den engelska versionen. Beskrivning: The death of the Virgin. Laid down. The high altar of the Sienese church of S. Maria in Fontegiusta was adorned with frescoes representing the birth and death of the Virgin. This drawing is a preparatory study for the latter composition, executed about or shortly after 1600. A second, substantially larger study for the fresco, in black chalk and bistre, heightened with white, is in the Uffizi, while a third, attributed to Salimbeni, is in the Louvre.
