BeskrivningBeskrivning: Barfords egen kommentar om Parklife: Regarding my thoughts on the piece: Inspired by Hieronymus Bosch I wanted to create a surreal scene of animal/human hybrids. Purposefully ambiguous, we are not sure how these creatures came about; through science or nature? We do not know either, whether they are friendly or threatening. I really wanted to create a piece that was at the same time both beautiful and absurd. Creative process: The piece was originally developed as a table centre piece, the idea of the piece was conceived by playing around with the found porcelain figures. I cut them up into heads and bodies and started playing with the configuration of the piece. Only certain heads will fit certain bodies and these need to be ground down to ensure a good fit. All the objects in the piece are found and each bird is ground to fit its particular base. The display: The piece has always been set up as in the picture. It depends though if you are having people walk all around it or if it is to be viewed from one side. Also as to how much and what type of space you are giving it. The setting up of it needs some playing with sometimes. Beskrivning: Barfords own commentar on Parklife: Inspired by Hieronymus Bosch I wanted to create a surreal scene of animal/human hybrids.
