BiographyAfter studying with Dirck Govertsz. in Gorkum, he became a pupil of Jan Both around 1643, after which he went to Rome in 1646–47. There are different opinions about the length of his stay there. In 1652 he was back in Gorkum, where he was then active. [Magnusson, Dutch Drawings]
