Carl and Karin Larsson made a life for themselves in Dalarna, which steered away from modern city life. At the same time, their philosophy of life was modern and innovative. They introduced strong colours, like the blue of the old Baroque cupboard. The children were allowed to take up space on terms corresponding more to that of adults.
