In 1920–1937, Danish-Swedish artisan and goldsmith and silversmith Astrid M. Aagesen ran a metal workshop in Helsingborg with additional sales in Stockholm. She collaborated with several artists to develop new items. The biscuit jar was designed by the sculptor Ivar Johnsson. The decor shows Amor, Cupid, the god of love driving an arrow into a woman’s heart. Aagesen was well known in Helsingborg, she smoked a pipe and liked to wear men’s clothe.
