BiographyHendrik Frans van Lint was probably a pupil of
Pieter van Bredael in Antwerp. From 1697 he was
active in Rome. He was nicknamed “studio” in the
Flemish colony. There is a story that he was once
attacked as a sorcerer by village people when his house
collapsed as he was sketching it in 1711. He became a
member of the Congregazione dei virtuosi in Rome
1744 and its regent in 1752. Van Lint painted landscapes,
harbours, townscapes and hunting scenes.
