BiographyGuillaume de spinny painted portraits for a circle
of aristocratic patrons. He was born in Brussels
and active for some time in France. In 1756 and also
later he was working as a portraitist in The Hague.
His portraits display the influence of Johann
Friedrich August Tischbein among others. He died in
Eikenduimen outside The Hague in 1785.
