    BIBLIOGRAPHY: Abel 1979:2, p 38
    CONSERVATION: Restored before entering
NM: damage to edges – losses of wood,
ground and paint layers – repaired; damage
to paint layers in upper central part of icon
retouched. Damage to upper central border
    of panel
In the upper corners are the traditional
depictions of Christ and the Mother
of God. Since originally the icon was
meant to have a mounting the painting
under the covered part is somewhat
simplified. The silver mounting of high
quality follows the style of the time.
