CONSERVATION: Not restored. The dark
colouring on the cross worn away; losses of
wood on borders
In the centre is the Calvary Cross, on a
stylised hill containing the skull of
Adam and flanked by lance and stave.
Uppermost is a depiction of “The
image of Christ not painted by human
hand”. Beside the instruments of the
Passion are two stylised churches. The
inner frame is decorated with a cable
moulding. The text and text abbreviations
are divided into six lines. Line 1:
OBRAZ ; NERUKOTVORNY (Icon
“not made by human hands”); line 2:
TSR ; SLBYI; line 3: NIKO? ; PBC?; line
4: IC ; XC; line 5: KTPV ; IVTS; line 6:
ML; RB. The letters G and A are inscribed
to either side of the hill of Golgotha.
