time of restoration. Uneven varnish
The face, with the olive skin colour
from the first layer of carnation (sankir),
the orange head-dress (maphorion)
and deep blue in dress and inside of
maphorion are original.
Single representations showing
Saint Vera are rather unusual. This may
have beenan eponymous iconfor a nun.
