    NM: cracks in panel mended, scattered
    retouches on borders; NM 1970: old surface
    damage repaired. Uneven yellowish

    This picture consists of two parts
    which have been combined in a traditional
    manner: in the upper part the
    Archangels Michael and Gabriel, surrounded
    by clouds, carry the image of
    the Mother of God from Kazan. Below
    this, the Mother of God is praised by a
    great host of saints, who are, beginning
    with the front row from left: St Nicholas,
    St Nifont, Bishop of Novgorod,
    the prophet Elijah, Archdeacon

    Paul, Peter, Metropolitan of Moscow,
