    from opposite sides.

    CONSERVATION: Restored prior to entering
    NM: partly repainted when figures put
    into new panel, probably around 1900.
    Varnish yellowed
    The two monastic founders are shown
    in prayer before the Mother of God of
    the Sign. The text on the scroll is hard
    to identify. This icon is clearly connected
    with an Old Believer tradition.
