Seven groups of the heavenly hierarchy
are depicted, three on the left and three
on the right, together with a seventh in
the centre, all of whom stand on stylised
clouds. Below, Archangel Michael
stands on a recumbent nude male
figure. In the upper part of the icon is a
large circular shape, in the centre of
which the Lord God of Sabaoth is
shown enthroned in an aureole with
seraphs, surrounded by lesser aureoles
with scenes from different phases of
the Creation. This icon probably has
its origin in an Old Believer environment.
