Louis Sparre was a close friend of Emma and Anders Zorn. His portrait of Emma represents the grieving half of a marriage, but just as much one half of an artistic career. She acted as a managing director for the art of Anders Zorn. After her husband’s death, Emma devoted her life to transforming their home into the Zorn Museum, which included acquiring works and creating an exhibition building.
