In 1903, Anna Broberg exhibited her paintings from the north of Norway for the first time in Stockholm. A number of international exhibitions followed in Berlin, Paris, Venice and other places. Her exotic, arctic landscapes generated the greatest interest, while fishing boats with red sails were also a recurring subject. The paintings of fishing boats were given titles like “Modern Vikings”.
